DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has had a rough last two years, particularly off the field. Prescott has suffered numerous injuries that have derailed seasons and has lost people close to him since 2020.
He's gone through a lot. The most recent example is the calf strain injury that affected his play down the stretch of last season. Prescott was putting together an MVP-caliber campaign prior to injuring his calf just before last season's bye week.
Fortunately, the arrow appears to be pointing up for Prescott. The Cowboys have one of the best quarterbacks in football when healthy — and Prescott has shown no signs of any setbacks since the end of the 2021 season.
PRESCOTT LOOKS HEALTHY AS EVER
Dak Prescott has been a full particpatnt in offseason team activtiies. It is important Prescott be active and present, as the team is going through a bit of turnover.
Key pieces such as Amari Cooper, Cedrick Wilson, and La'el Collins are no longer on the offense. Furthermore, Michael Gallup is sidelined as he recovers from a late-season ACL tear, and some other skill players have been working through injuries this offseason, too.
Thankfully for the Cowboys, Prescott is healthy. In fact, according to beat reporter Jon Machota of The Athletic, Prescott looks 'as healthy as ever.'
"None at all," Machota wrote in regards to if Prescott is dealing with any remnants of the injuries. "He looks as healthy as ever. No limitations. He’s moving better than last year and he has looked accurate throwing in the pocket or on the run."
That is very comforting to hear if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan. Prescott has proven what he can do when healthy, putting up gaudy numbers when on the field since the 2019 season. He has very clearly taken a step forward in his development and is an established franchise passer.
If the Cowboys are going to make a serious run in 2022, the team needs Dak Prescott be healthy. As far as OTAs go, Prescott definitely seems to ready to go for the fall.
