The Dallas Cowboys offseason has been highlighted by losing key players.

Amari Cooper was traded for pennies on the dollar. La'el Collins was outright cut. Both Cedrick Wilson and Connor Williams signed with the Miami Dolphins in free agency. Randy Gregory left town in a weird situation, too.

Simply put: it is difficult to argue that the Dallas Cowboys have not gotten worse this offseason. The wide receivers — once a major strength — are weaker and several question marks surround the offensive line. No difference-making talent was added to offset the losses, either.

On the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles have been aggressive. Philadelphia, an arch rival of Dallas and the biggest challenger in the division, has upgraded their roster on both sides of the ball.

The Eagles traded for Pro Bowl wide receiver AJ Brown on draft night. Philly signed a solid free agency haul and drafted Jordan Davis in the first-round and Nakobe Dean in the third. Now, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has made another splash.

Eagles are major threat to Cowboys

As teams cut down their roster ahead of the 2022 NFL season, the Eagles made a big move on Tuesday. Philadelphia traded for New Orleans Saints' Pro Bowl defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.

Gardner-Johnson and the Saints could not get an extension finalized. Therefore, the Eagles swooped in and added the high-level talent. Now, the defense gets even better in Philadelphia.

This, of course, has a direct impact on the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have been the favorite in the NFC East since the conclusion of last season. However, the Eagles have been right behind them. This latest move makes things even more interesting.

Whereas Dallas lost key talent, the Eagles added key talent. Pretty much where things stand between the two NFC East rivals in a nutshell.

Fortunately, the Cowboys still have the clear advantage at quarterback. Dak Prescott gives Dallas a real opportunity to repeat as divisonal champs. There is a clear edge between he and Jalen Hurts.

However, these moves made by the Eagles makes his job that much more difficult. It is clear that the Eagles have the better roster on paper. Now, the Cowboys will have to overcome that.
