A couple of coordinators from the Jeremy Pruitt era in Knoxville have landed new gigs in college football.

Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and former UT defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer are reportedly joining Georgia State's staff under new head coach Dell McGee.

McGee was recently hired as Georgia State's head coach after previous head coach Shawn Elliott left to become Shane Beamer's new tight ends coach at South Carolina.

Chaney served as Tennessee's offensive coordinator under Jeremy Pruitt from 2019 to 2020 (he also served as Derek Dooley's offensive coordinator at Tennessee in 2012).

Sherrer, meanwhile, was Tennessee's defensive coordinator under Pruitt in 2018. He was demoted to special teams coordinator/inside linebackers coach the following season. Sherrer left Tennessee after the 2019 season to join the New York Giants' coaching staff.

Chaney and Sherrer both previously worked with McGee at Georgia.
