Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones tried his best to spark hope in the hearts of frustrated fans when he claimed the team would be going all-in ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

His comments, which he made to reporters at the Senior Bowl earlier in the year, have become the storyline of the offseason as fans, media, and even players wonder what exactly the statement means and if this year, the front office will approach team building in a more aggressive way.

Unfortunately for fans, Stephen Jones doesn't exactly sound like somebody ready to do things differently. When asked about Jerry's "all in" comments he offered a very uninspiring choice of words.

"I've never known Jerry not to go all-in in any given year," Jones told reporters via The Athletic's Jon Machota. "Certainly, we've got a great, I think a great team put together. The last three years, won a lot of football games, I think 36. Certainly where we have to improve is the postseason, we're gotta get the right kind of guys who step up and make big plays in the postseason."

Sure, Jones is right about having to get the right kind of guys to win in the playoffs. However, immediately acting as if the front office is going all in every year is acting as if there doesn't need to be a big change in how you do things.

Essentially, it's Jones confirming the process isn't changing drastically anytime soon as Jerry's comments would suggest.

"It's been a challenge in terms of our success (in the playoffs)," Stephen added. "And that's where we have to improve. "We're taking a holistic view of this thing, and we'll continue to look at it. Obviously, being here at the combine, it's gonna be, you know, a great time to spend some time in terms of looking not only at the young players that are going to be out there, but just spending time together, internally spend a lot of time talking about what we have to get accomplished in order to take the next step."

Holistic view. Looking at young players. Take the next step. This is the same exact discourse that the Cowboys' front office has offered every offseason for the past several years.

It sure sounds like the Cowboys aren't really changing things up anytime soon. Now we wait for March to see if they prove our gut feeling wrong. I'm not holding out hope.
