ESPN's Eric Moody made quite the prediction this week for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in 2024.
Moody thinks the former LSU standout will win his first NFL MVP award next season.
From ESPN: Burrow is in an excellent position to win the award, especially with Ja'Marr Chase as his No. 1 receiver, provided the quarterback can stay healthy. In 2022, the league began accepting first-, second- and third-place votes for the MVP award, and Burrow finished fourth behind Mahomes, Jalen Hurts and Allen.
This offseason could finally be Burrow's first "normal" offseason as an NFL player after dealing with the pandemic as a rookie, a torn ACL after year one, an appendix removal after year two, and a calf strain during last year's training camp.
Despite the adversity, which Burrow, unsurprisingly, embraces, the former Heisman Trophy winner has quickly emerged as the biggest challenger to Patrick Mahomes in the AFC. If Burrow comes out firing on all cylinders next fall — and there's no reason to expect otherwise — he could easily be in position to dominate the MVP conversation.
Burrow has one of the best wide receivers in the NFL at his disposal in Ja'Marr Chase. And wide receiver Tee Higgins, a No. 1 option if he was in any other offense, will likely return to Cincinnati next season (the Bengals are expected to use the franchise tag on Higgins this offseason).
The weapons are there for Burrow. As long as everyone stays healthy, the Bengals' signal-caller should be right in the thick of the MVP race next season.
