Carolina Panthers can't write off Bryce Young yet for a completely obvious reason

The easy thing for everyone to do would be to write off Bryce Young. Already, the national media is trying to do so.  However, some are trying to keep Young's rookie season struggles in perspective. The easy thing for everyone to do would be to write off Bryce Young.

Already, the national media is trying to do so.

However, some are trying to keep Young's rookie season struggles in perspective. Recently, NBC Sports' Matthew Berry, in an interview with Bleacher Nation, gave a pretty convincing reason as to why the Carolina Panthers faithful can't give up on the No. 1 overall pick just yet.

"He had no weapons around him, and the Panthers did him no favors with the personnel or coaching staff," Berry said. "I am excited to see what he can do with Dave Canales coaching him. Bryce Young didn’t suddenly forget how to play football. Coaching and having a real supporting cast around him are so crucial to everyone, but especially a young QB. Remember Trevor Lawrence’s rookie year under Urban Meyer? I’m willing to completely forget Young’s rookie year."

After bringing in Canales, who rebuilt Geno Smith's career and saved Baker Mayfield, the Panthers' focus is adding the necessary weapons to make Young's life as a starting quarterback easier.

Currently, the Panthers have around $39 million in cap space. That is before the front office makes a decision on Miles Sanders, the running back Carolina grossly overpaid for during the 2023 offseason.

Still, the Panthers should have some wiggle room to add a good wide receiver. One name that has been linked to Charlotte since the heart of the 2023 season is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

If Young can land a talent like Higgings or Tampa Bay Buccaneers free agent Mike Evans, his chances at success, with a new head coach and better offensive scheme, increase.

The easy thing for the public to do is abandon Young. That isn't the path the Panthers are planning to take.

There is a clear indication that 2024 is about creating an atmosphere for Young to succeed. And if he does, the former Alabama quarterback may make the rest of the world look foolish for jumping off the bandwagon.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young makes a claim so ridiculous it might be true

Bryce Young is feeling the pressure.  The 2023 No. 1 overall pick played a putrid rookie season as the franchise's starting quarterback, and his lack of production got former Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich fired.  Now under Dave Canales, Young is feeling confident in his abilities and recently made a claim to TMZ Sports […]
