The Kansas City Chiefs are known for breaking records on the football field, but their Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers broke a record in your living room, once again.

According to a CBS Sports press release, Super Bowl 58 ranked as the most-watched telecast in history, averaging 123.4 million viewers across all platforms. That's up seven percent from their Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles a season ago, which was the previous record-holder with 115.1 million.

202.4 million viewers watched all or part of the big game across all networks, which ranks as the highest unduplicated total audience in history. That's up 10 percent from last year's audience (184 million).

CBS, of course, led the way as the primary broadcast network. The 120 million viewers ranked as the largest audience in history for a single broadcast network. They certainly weren't tuning in for Tony Romo's commentary.

Super Bowl LVIII also became the most-streamed Super Bowl in history, with record-setting viewership on CBS' Paramount+ streaming service. The NFL on CBS saw record-setting numbers this season, leading to the broadcast network's best postseason viewership since 1998.

The Chiefs have graduated from must-watch TV. Now, they're the most-watched football team. Everyone wants to catch a glimpse of what this team and their star QB Patrick Mahomes will do next, which is just another indicator that a new NFL dynasty has arrived.
