The Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers rivalry doesn't get talked about enough, but it's one that has a ton of history of hatred. These two teams used to be neighbors in the Bay Area, and the fan bases collided when they crossed the Golden Gate Bridge.
However, even with that history there, the two teams still have respect for certain players on the opposite squad. Nick Bosa, who won Defensive Player of the Year in 2022, is a player that a lot of other players respect because of his ability to put pressure on the pocket.
Maxx Crosby is a guy that demands respect from everyone in the league, no matter the team. On Monday, which was the opening night for the Super Bowl, Bosa was asked about Crosby and if he would vote for him as the Defensive Player of the Year.
"I think he's one of the best, for sure," Nick Bosa said during Super Bowl's opening night. "He is definitely up there with the best. I think he's earned it. I just admire his game cause he wins in so many different ways, and he plays with incredible effort."
Crosby is a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year Award, in which he had a career season all while playing through two major injuries. One of those injuries left him hospitalized the day before a game. He has since had surgery on both which will keep him out for a bit of his offseason.
The narrative surrounding the award, which the winner will be announced Thursday night, has changed to the winner being either Miles Garrett or T.J. Watt. The other two candidates are not even being considered anymore. However, it would appear that Bosa would vote for Crosby if given the chance.
