2024 four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite, a native of Ohio, had offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Miami, among others, as a high school recruit.

Satterwhite took several visits, including trips to Auburn, Clemson, and Penn State, but he ultimately decided to sign with the Tennessee Vols.

The talented offensive lineman recently joined The Players Lounge Tennessee and he explained why Tennessee was the right program for him.

Offensive line coach Glen Elarbee and the desire to win a championship as an underdog helped guide Satterwhite toward Tennessee.

"Elarbee's energy and his overall character, to me, really resembles my (high school) head coach," said Satterwhite. "And his coaching style is really unique to me — being able to see what he draws up at practices and things he says really just stuns me sometimes. And Coach Heup (Josh Heupel) is a newer coach in the SEC. Just trying to come here and win a national championship with him is my goal. Love the underdog story, really. That's why I kinda chose here."

It's easy to join a program that's already known for winning championships. But for a four-star recruit to pass up those opportunities to chase a championship at a program that's never even been to the playoff, it shows that Satterwhite has that competitive streak that Heupel and his staff love. And that's why he's a perfect fit for the Vols.
