The Los Angeles Chargers have completed an interview with Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel Joe Hortiz for their general manager opening, as noted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Chargers are on the lookout for a new general manager after they parted ways with Tom Telesco last month. Telesco served as Chargers general manager for 11 years.

Hortiz has been a member of the Ravens organization for 26 years. He first joined the Ravens in 1998, and he spent his opening eight years with Baltimore as an area scout. He was later handed the title of Ravens director of college scouting in 2009. He held the position until 2019 when he was promoted to his current role as Ravens director of player personnel.

Hortiz has since closely worked with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and team general manager Eric DeCosta. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently described the longtime executive as "another top exec with old-school roots in a new-age organization."

Hortiz has received general manager interest from other teams over the years. For one, the Arizona Cardinals requested permission to interview Hortiz for their general manager vacancy in Jan. 2023, but in the end, they decided to hire Monti Ossenfort for the position.

Hortiz and the Ravens currently have their sights set on next week's AFC divisional round.
