The Philadelphia Eagles may have ended their regular season in embarrassing fashion but at least they still have the playoffs to prove themselves.
The same can't be said for the No. 2 seed Dallas Cowboys, who have officially been eliminated from playoff contention following a dreadful 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening.
I'll spare you the boring details, but it's worth noting that Cowboys fans everywhere wanted head coach Mike McCarthy fired at the half when the Packers were up 27-7.
So, what does the Cowboys' loss mean for the Eagles?
Well, the No. 7 seed Packers will head to San Francisco 49ers to take on the No. 1 seed 49ers.
As for Philly, pending a victory of their own over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, they'll player the winner of the Los Angeles Rams-Detroit Lions matchup.
If the No. 3 seed Lions win, then the Eagles would play them in Detroit.
However, if the No. 6 seed Rams win, then the Eagles will play host to them at Lincoln Financial Field.
For now, Eagles fans need to root for the underdog Rams.
