The Baltimore Ravens will have Mark Andrews available for their upcoming AFC title game matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Ravens activated Andrews off the injured reserve list on Friday. The three-time Pro Bowler underwent an extensive injury recovery process for the reported cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury that he suffered during Baltimore’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals in November. He ended up making just enough progress from his injuries to receive the green light to play on Sunday.
The Ravens now face a dilemma on whether they will call on Isaiah Likely to be Lamar Jackson’s go-to tight end against the Chiefs. Likely filled in for Andrews over Baltimore’s last seven games, including its AFC divisional round win against the Houston Texans.
Jackson was asked about this matter during a press conference on Friday, and he shared just what Baltimore’s plan will be on Sunday with Andrews now back in the fold.
"I believe we’re just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing — just dishing out the ball to all [of] our guys, not just one person," Jackson said during a press conference on Friday. "Mark is definitely going to help us through this process. He’s one of the ones, but we’re going to keep dishing the ball out like we’ve been doing."
It will be noteworthy to see just how many times Andrews and Likely end up sharing the field on Sunday.
Andrews and Likely combined for 11 receiving touchdowns during the regular season.
