The Super Bowl stage is set. In less than two weeks, the San Francisco 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game for the second time in the last five seasons. In 2020, the Chiefs beat the Niners by a score of 31-20. Now, San Francisco is set on revenge against KC.
49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa was asked about the matchup after the team's NFC Championship win over the Detroit Lions.
Bosa believes that the matchup is 'perfect' and a big challenge for San Francisco.
“And they’re as great as an organization, coach, quarterback as there is. And they were down, not looking great this year either, and they’re playing their best ball now, so it’s going to be a big challenge.” — Bosa
There are a handful of important veterans on each side that played in the last Super Bowl between the two squads. There certainly will to be a lack of emotion.
Plenty of storylines headline the game, too. A matchup between superstar Patrick Mahomes and the feel-good, rising Brock Purdy is at the forefront. Not to mention, two of the best tight ends of this generation face off in another exciting playoff game.
The two defenses have played some of the best ball in the NFL during this season. The Chiefs ride a hot streak, while the Niners need to prove that they can play like they did against Detroit in the second half for an entire ball game.
Regardless, there's no lack of intrigue for a rematch from 2020.
