It's every athlete's worst nightmare.

On Monday, just a day after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship to earn a spot in the Super Bowl, sources confirmed to A to Z Sports' Charles Goldman that Charles Omenihu suffered a torn ACL.

And the defensive lineman had a simple, but clear message after the news was made public.

Omenihu left Sunday's game with a non-contact knee injury, with his knee buckling on a play. He did not return to the game, but people weren't counting him out for the postseason finale just yet.

After the game he appeared to be okay and even assured reporters that he'd be playing in the Super Bowl. But that's no longer a possibility.

Omenihu finishes the season with seven sacks in eleven games, and that included a strip-sack of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the Chiefs win.

And along with wanting to play in the Super Bowl, Kansas City is also facing his former team which gives him that added motivation. So the Chiefs will be without one of their top pass rushers.
