Steelers’ Arthur Smith cites the relationship between he and Kenny Pickett as ‘paramount’ to Pittsburgh’s success

The two most important positions on any NFL team are the HC and QB.
But using the analogy of school, the HC is more of the principal than he is the teacher.
The teacher for any QB is the play caller, the OC. That's now Arthur Smith's job in Pittsburgh, and he knows that success starts with his relationship with Kenny Pickett:
Trust Fall
“There’s a relationship that’s got to be built between me and Kenny," Steelers new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith told Missi Matthews of Steelers.com. "That’s so paramount between the play caller and the quarterback,” Smith said. “There’s a trust that’s gotta be built daily and it goes both ways. I’ve gotta earn Kenny’s trust and vice versa as we build this offense, and all the things we want to work on and we want him to work on, and take command of this offense.”
Smith isn't shying away from the challenge that is developing a QB. He aimed to do the same with Desmond Ridder in Atlanta, but it's a little different when your trying to win with a third-round pick who has a losing record in the NFL as opposed to a first-round pick like Kenny who's 14-10 as a starter.
Smith is saying all the right things early, especially after team president Art Rooney II said Kenny Pickett would be the team's QB going forward. But don't rule out a pairing of him and an old friend, a signing that would have Pickett looking over his shoulder for sure.

The Steelers will be pounding the table in hopes for one player in particular.
