Kyren Williams must have seen the future.

Or at least, he likes to think he does.

Williams became the Rams' first 1,000-yard rusher since 2018. And in an interview with NFL.com, the 23-year-old runner stated that he knew a season like the 2023 season was coming for him soon.

"I would say I expected it because all I wanted coming into this year was a chance," Williams told NFL.com at Friday's Pro Bowl Games practices. "And I knew if I got a chance that I was gonna do what I do. I knew that I was this type of player, and I just needed a chance to show it. And coach [Sean] McVay gave me that shot and put his confidence into me, and as a player, it allowed me to feel good and just be who I am."

Williams' 2023 season was one for the books. He ran for 1,144 yards on 228 carries. It was a mark good enough for the third-most yards gained on the ground in the NFL. Williams also finished with 12 touchdowns, a mark good enough for seventh in the league.

What made Williams' season so special was that he was one of the league's best runners, with only playing in 12 games.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But it turns out Williams knew he just needed a chance to show the type of running back he could be.
