Marlon Humphrey did not play in the Baltimore Ravens’ AFC divisional round win over the Houston Texans.
Humphrey has been sidelined since suffering a calf injury during the first half of Baltimore’s home game against the Miami Dolphins last month. The Ravens kept him out of their regular season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they did not clear him to take part in any of their three practice sessions last week.
The Ravens now have their sights set on the upcoming AFC title game, and head coach John Harbaugh is hoping to see the veteran cornerback make his return to practice before the contest.
"I promise you, if Marlon can go, he will," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Monday. "If he can practice, he will. I think you'll see it as the week goes on based on how much he practices. … I'm very hopeful. We'll just see what happens."
What if the Ravens sideline Humphrey on Sunday?
Ronald Darby filled in for Humphrey against Houston. Darby featured in 96 percent of Baltimore’s snaps on defense in the game, and he recorded three total tackles. If Humphrey does not receive the green light to play against the Kansas City Chiefs, then Darby is expected to be called on to start out at cornerback in the contest.
Humphrey tallied 26 total tackles over 10 regular season games played this year.
