The Baltimore Ravens decided not to activate Mark Andrews off the injured reserve list ahead of the AFC divisional round.
Andrews has been out of action since he suffered a reported cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury during Baltimore’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals in November. The Ravens designated Andrews to return from injured reserve on Jan. 12, and he went on to take part in each of their three practice sessions last week, but it was not enough to receive the green light to play against Houston.
Next up for the Ravens is an AFC title game showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. At the least, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is expecting Andrews to take part in practice this week.
"We'll just see how it goes," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Monday. "We're looking forward to it. He practiced last week, and I'm sure he will practice again this week. If he's ready to play, he will play."
If the Ravens do not clear Andrews to play against the Chiefs, then Isaiah Likely will once again be called on to start out at the tight end position for the AFC North side. Likely is just coming off of a productive outing against Houston, tallying two receptions for 34 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.
Likely has recorded four touchdown catches in his last three games.
