247Sports issued their final ranking update for the 2024 recruiting class this week which means we know the expected final ranking for the Tennessee Vols' 2024 class.
(The Vols aren't expected to sign any more high school recruits during the 2024 cycle, unless five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley decommits from LSU…which will likely only happen if Brian Kelly leaves LSU for Michigan in the event that Jim Harbaugh leaves Michigan for the NFL.)
Tennessee's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 13 in the nation in 247Sports' composite rankings after their final update.
Here's the top 15.
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Miami
5. Texas
6. Oregon
7. LSU
8. Auburn
9. Oklahoma
10. Notre Dame
11. Florida State
12. Clemson
13. Tennessee
14. Penn State
15. Florida
Interestingly, Michigan, the team that just won the national championship, has the No. 16 class in the nation.
As for the Vols, the No. 13 ranking can be a bit deceiving. Tennessee's average player rating in this class is 91.09. That's higher than Miami (90.79), LSU (90.81), Oklahoma (90.81), Florida State (91.00), and Clemson (90.45).
This is essentially a top 10 class for the Vols. I wouldn't get too caught up in the No. 13 ranking. With players like Jordan Ross, Mike Matthews, Boo Carter, Bennett Warren, and Jake Merklinger, this is among Tennessee's most talented recruiting classes ever.
Why Tennessee Vols fans should hope Jim Harbaugh stays at Michigan
