The Houston Texans are still waiting to see who they will face for their divisional-round matchup.
But they now know that one key player won't be on the field after placing WR Noah Brown on the IR with a shoulder injury.
Brown began the year as the Texans WR 4 behind Nico Collins, rookie Tank Dell, and Robert Woods. His role with the team grew significantly after the Texans lost Dell for the season after Week 13. Brown finished with 567 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the ten games he played in.
Since Dell's injury, Brown has operated as the Texans' WR 2. But unfortunately, Brown has had to miss some important games down the stretch before being placed on the IR today. He was inactive for the Texans' Week 18 win over the Indianapolis Colts, and during their wildcard round win over the Cleveland Browns, he left the game with just one target and zero receptions.
They will now look to veteran Robert Woods and 2nd year WR John Metchie III to step into more prominent roles with the offense. With the Texans having a road game upcoming, those players preparing now as starters become priority number one for their preparation.
