The Seattle Seahawks have started to submit interview requests for their upcoming head-coaching search.

They've got a big task at hand following their decision to make a change from Pete Carroll, who has been the lead man in the franchise since 2010. From the looks of things so far, Seattle wants to get back to their roots, which is to establish a dominant defense.

Below is a look at the candidates with whom they've requested interviews so far:

Cowboys DC Dan Quinn

Quinn is the coach with which they’re most familiar. He was the architect behind the Legion of Boom in Seattle during the team’s Super Bowl run. His Seahawks defense led the league in fewest points allowed (231), fewest yards allowed (4,378), and takeaways (39). He’s since got head-coaching experience with the Atlanta Falcons and is currently employed as the defensive coordinator of the Cowboys.

Dolphins OC Frank Smith

Smith has experience as a tight ends coach, O-Line coach and has been the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins for the past two seasons. This year, he constructed one of the league’s most potent offenses, with speed and motion being at the focal point of how he runs things.

Panthers DC Ejiro Evero

A defensive-minded coach, Evero is also up for the Panthers head coaching job. He’s been coveted in NFL circles since his days as an assistant with the Los Angeles Rams. He did great work as the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos in 2022, coaching that defense to a 10th-place finish by DVOA and a 9th-place finish by EPA/play. His defense wasn’t quite as dominant in Carolina this past year, but they also didn’t get much help from their offense.

Rams DC Raheem Morris

A defensive-minded candidate, Morris’ background is in the secondary. Morris is in his third year calling plays for the Rams’ defense, coaching them to a 20th-place finish in EPA/play finish in 2023. He has head-coaching experience with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons.
