The Baltimore Ravens signed Dalvin Cook to their active roster on Thursday. The Ravens entered the day having a total of three open spots on their active roster, and they filled one of them with the four-time Pro Bowler.

Cook has been a regular in practice with the Ravens ever since he agreed to join their practice squad earlier this month. He took part in all four of Baltimore's practices during its recent bye week, and he featured in each of its three practice sessions this week.

Now, Cook is set to make his Ravens debut against the Houston Texans on Saturday. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is "looking forward" to seeing just what Cook will bring to the table in the AFC divisional round.

"Dalvin will be in there," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Thursday. "I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for him and for us. We’ll be looking forward to seeing how he does. It’s new. We haven’t seen him out there. … He looks good, and he’s going to be out there like everybody else trying to do whatever he can do to help us win the game."

The Ravens are expected to call on Gus Edwards to anchor their ground game against Houston. Edwards posted career highs across the board in regular season play this year, from yards from scrimmage (990) to total touchdowns (13).

On Cook’s part, he is aiming to contribute wherever needed on Saturday.

"I’m not specifically looking forward to a role or anything," Cook said on Thursday. "They call 31’s number, I’m going to be out there. I’m gone. I’m going to be on the field. I’m ready to make a play, but for me though, honestly, Gus, Justice, they put the work in all year. You have to credit those guys, so whatever my role is, whatever they call upon me, they’ll get a thousand percent out of Dalvin."

Cook tallied 292 yards from scrimmage during his recent run with the New York Jets.
