The divisional round of the playoffs kick off on Saturday afternoon, and a number of former Tennessee Volunteers still have visions of claiming football's ultimate prize.
Seven former Tennessee players are on rosters of teams that are competing this weekend as Super Bowl hopefuls narrow from eight teams down to four.
For Tennessee fans looking to focus on the team with the most former Vols, then they will want to tune in on Sunday at 3:00 pm ET when the Detroit Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Lions have the most former Vols on their roster with four. CB Cam Sutton is a starter and LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin is a reserve LB in Dan Campbell's defense and special teams standout, earning second-team AP All-Pro honors this year. QB Hendon Hooker is on the active roster. CB Emmanuel Moseley is on injured reserve. Sutton and Reeves-Maybin both tallied two tackles each as the Lions topped the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 on Sunday night to notch the Lions' first playoff win since 1991.
Guard Trey Smith will help protect Patrick Mahomes from the Buffalo Bills' defense when the Kansas City Chiefs and the Bills meet on Sunday night in Buffalo. Smith earned his first Super Bowl ring last year when the Chiefs topped the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
Speaking of players with rings, Derek Barnett will look to help the surprise of the league – the AFC South champion Houston Texans – continue their remarkable run on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore against the #1 AFC seed Ravens. Barnett, who earned a ring with the Eagles in Super Bowl LII, was claimed by the Texans this year after the Eagles waived him and notched a sack and four quarterback pressures last week in the Texans win over the Cleveland Browns.
Lastly, Jauan Jennings and the NFC top seed San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Jennings, who remains etched in Tennessee lore for his massive touchdowns against Florida and Georgia in 2016, appeared in 13 games in the regular season with 19 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown.
Four games, all with former Volunteers playing in them. All seven hoping to raise the Vince Lombardi trophy over their heads during a parade in mid-February.
