Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid continues to make his mark in the NFL history books, especially when it comes to postseason play.

With the team's upcoming AFC Championship Game appearance, Reid now has 11 conference championship game appearances during his tenure as a head coach in the NFL. Reid led the Philadelphia Eagles to four straight NFC title games from 2001-2004. He's now led the Chiefs to six consecutive AFC title games from 2018-2023.

After beating the Bills 27-24 to advance on Sunday night, Reid breaks a tie with the great John Madden for the second-most consecutive conference championship games as a head coach. Madden led the Raiders to five consecutive appearances from 1973-1977.

Back in the 2021 divisional round, Reid also became the first coach in NFL history to lead two different teams to at least four consecutive conference championship games.

More history made for Coach Reid

After the victory in Buffalo, Reid now has the second-most total conference championship game appearances as a head coach (11) in NFL history.

The 65-year-old head coach passed Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Tom Landry (10) to be second to only former New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick (13) in total conference championship appearances. If you include his tenure as an assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers, Reid has coached in 14 total conference championship games during his NFL career.

For the longest time, Reid had the reputation of a coach that couldn't get it done in the postseason. With two Super Bowl wins under his belt, and continued appearances in conference championship games, you can stack his record up against the best of the best.

When it's all said and done, Reid will be recognized as one of the most prolific postseason coaches in NFL history.
