The NFL playoffs has come down to four teams remaining, and like the rest of the fans around the world, the Chicago Bears will be sitting back to watch the final three games of the 2023 season.

While everyone's intently watching the final moments of the season, Bears' general manager Ryan Poles can get started on some early offseason scouting while watching the upcoming games.

The Bears currently have around $50.8 million in salary cap space in 2024, per OverTheCap, which is the eighth most in the NFL. The team could be big spenders this offseason, and here's five upcoming free agents who will be playing during the AFC and NFC Championship games this weekend the Bears could potentially target.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones

If the Bears really want to spend big this offseason, it doesn’t get bigger than this. Chris Jones, the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, is one of the league's most dominant defensive players and the Bears should 100 percent be interested if he winds up hitting the open market.

Jones worked out a restructured, one-year, $19.5 million deal with the Chiefs after holding out, and even missing out on the first game of the season, in 2023. The Chiefs are expected to be unable to afford to place Jones on the franchise tag and could potentially elect not to sign him to a long term deal when the season comes to an end.

The two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler will demand a hefty contract during the offseason that will potentially rival Aaron Donald's $31.6 million per year salary. It would definitely eat a massive chunk into the Bears' available cap space but it'd be hard to not flirt with signing a player who has recorded 10+ sacks in consecutive seasons.

Lions OG Graham Glasgow

The Bears are all but guaranteed to exit the free agency period with at least one splash signing on the offensive line after the team allowed 50 sacks during the 2023 season. Immediate upgrades are needed at center, guard, and potentially left tackle before entering the 2024 season, no matter who is starting at quarterback.

Detroit Lions' guard Graham Glasgow is a major name to keep an eye on for the Bears to potentially target in free agency. The 31-year-old still has some productive years left in the tank and can be a solid starter up-front for the Bears.

The Bears attempted to make a big signing at the position last offseason after signing Nate Davis to a sizable 3 year, $30 million contract. Davis started just 11 games for the Bears in 2023 and allowed 29 pressures and seven QB hits.

49ers DE Chase Young

Who wouldn’t love this potential reunion? The Chicago Bears already acquired one former Washington Commanders' pass rusher in Montez Sweat and who's to say they shouldn’t go after Chase Young as well?

Young joined the San Francisco 49ers prior to the 2023 NFL trade deadline soon after the Bears made a deal to acquire Sweat. The 49ers traded a 2024 compensatory third round pick for Young and will now be asked to pay up to keep him in the Bay Area once the season comes to an end.

If the 49ers are unable to pay his potentially demands on a long term deal, the short term flier at the deadline could depart in free agency. During his 34 games with the Commanders playing alongside Sweat, Young recorded 14.0 sacks and 26 QB hits. With the 49ers, Young has totaled 2.5 sacks in 10 games. It's entirely possible 49ers general manager John Lynch decides to go in a different direction next season.

Lions' WR Josh Reynolds

The Bears will most likely be overhauling the entire wide receiver position during the offseason through the draft and free agency. The team has wide receiver DJ Moore locked in place but beyond him, the room gets really thin.

Detroit Lions' wide receiver Josh Reynolds could be a solid and underrated pick up in free agency if he doesn’t return with the team in 2024. The 28-year-old had a very productive season in 2023, which has since continued into the playoffs. Reynolds has caught seven receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown in the Lions' two playoff games.

He could be the ideal addition to the roster to help be an experienced target to complement Moore in the passing game. Reynolds, who spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, could also be a good fit for the Bears' new offensive scheme since he has prior ties to a few of the Bears' offensive coordinator candidates.

Ravens' S Geno Stone

The Bears will have to make a tough decision regarding the future of long-time safety Eddie Jackson who is set to have over an $18 million cap hit in 2024. The price is simply to high to pay for the 30-year-old and the team could look to get younger and more explosive at the position in 2024.

Baltimore Ravens' safety Geno Stone will be a top priority at the position for a number of teams in free agency. The 24-year-old ranked second in the NFL with seven interceptions during the regular season. If the Bears wanted to make a true splash, Stone should be their target.

Just imagine the Bears' secondary being led by Stone, potentially Jaylon Johnson, Jaquan Brisker, Kyler Gordon, and Tyrique Stevenson for years to come. The team already ranked second in defensive takeaways this season and Stone could take the unit to another level.
