The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been getting a lot of fair criticism in recent weeks. Dropping four games in a row will have that effect on a team.

From upset fans to former players, the Bucs have heard it from almost everyone, especially in this past week.

One of the toughest quotes about the team from this past week comes from Ronde Barber, and one of the few silver linings in this whole situation has been how Carlton Davis handled it.

A lot of guys had to play pretty bad for the Bucs last week to lose that game, and it would be fair to say that Carlton Davis probably looked the worst.

The veteran corner has been close to excellent for most of his Bucs career, but even the best corners have bad days from time to time. It seems like Davis had been saving his up.

Davis' three touchdowns surrendered came completely out of left field, especially against an inferior Houston wide receiver corps, and a lot of fans and analysts have keyed in on this performance.

Ronde Barber didn't hold back when talking about his former team:

The Bucs are bad and Barber was completely justified in his quote. This team absolutely has to be better against the pass. Perhaps Carlton Davis' handling of the situation could help spark a change.

Rather than make excuses or duck the questions, Davis faced the music and leaned into the bad day for himself and the rest of his unit:

There aren't a lot of guys that could handle such a bad day, get killed on social media, and then still give genuine answers on such a difficult topic.

Carlton Davis has always been a top-tier professional during his time with the Bucs, and a moment like this only solidifies that point even further.

You can rest assured that while the Bucs as a whole team may not show any dramatic improvements under the current coaching regime, one guy that will be on his game this weekend is Carlton Davis.

History tells us that this is the fluke, not the norm. Davis will be ready for the Titans. Whether the rest of the team will be is a different question entirely.
