We are almost through half of the season for the Seattle Seahawks, and the results have mostly been very positive.
Fans would certainly like to see the team at the top of the division after securing the first seed in the NFC West a week ago, but a loss to the Ravens recently has taken some of the wind out of the sails.
Still, there isn't much to hate with the first half of the season, and projections for the future could make the second half of the season even better than the first. Here are our boldest projections:
1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the team in receiving yards over the second half of the season
Does this count as bold? Perhaps not.
JSN has finally emerged as the guy he was projected to be when the Seahawks drafted him, and the last three games have shown the rookie as a more-than-capable receiving threat against any defense in the league.
With some question marks surrounding DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett for various reasons on a near-weekly basis, it seems all the more likely that Geno Smith keeps looking to JSN when the going gets tough.
2. Devon Witherspoon solidifies himself as the best corner in football
We all saw the same thing happen last year. Sauce Gardner looked like the best corner in football at the start of the season, but his rookie status prevented some from jumping on the bandwagon at this point last year.
That same mistake won't happen again this year.
Once Witherspoon emerged, he has stayed at an extremely high level of play, and any further continuation on this could have the NFL media talking about Witherspoon like they talked about Gardner last year
3. Seattle sweeps the 49ers
Might as well save the most bold take for last.
The 49ers have looked like the best team in football numerous times in the past few years, but the quarterback position has held them back more often than not. That same thing is happening this year, and Brock Purdy missing weapons is only hurting the team even more.
The Seahawks are surely seeing red after their loss to the Ravens, they have two weeks to get right against inferior opponents, and they have the weapons on both sides of the ball to beat San Francisco when it matters. Winning two games against a great team is certainly within the realm of reason.
Seahawks have great odds in Week 10
This is at least another small silver lining.
