The Minnesota Vikings won their fifth game in a row on Sunday, defeating the New Orleans Saints 27-19.

The Vikes came out hot, scoring 24 points in the first half alone. However, the team would only add 3 total points in the second half.

After the game, Kevin O'Connell talked about the conservative play-calling.

“Yeah, I think it comes down to knowing the fact that you want to be aggressive, but you also want to walk out of the stadium still winning the turnover battle,” O’Connell said.

The Vikes did end up winning the turnover battle. Jameis Winston threw 2 INTs while the Vikings had none of their own.

"But, you know, I’ve got to try to find that balance where I do believe in our guys and I do believe that I can stay aggressive for four quarters with our guys. And I’ll continue to work through that to make sure I’m giving them some premium ops. We had some chances there that maybe we didn’t make the play," explained the coach.

For the most part, the offense was effective and didn't make any crucial mistakes. Once again, Joshua Dobbs looks capable of being an NFL starting QB.

However, O'Connell knows that in the future he will likely need to take a few more risks to secure the game.

"But there were certainly few that I’d like to have back and knowing the situational management and milking the clock is one thing but staying aggressive is something we’ve got to do, as well,” said O'Connell.

Regardless, it didn't end up costing the Vikes a win on Sunday.
