It is a victory Monday for the Cleveland Browns after a big 33-31 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Not many picked the Browns to win this game on the road in Baltimore, but they did just that thanks to a 40-yard field goal as time expired from Dustin Hopkins.
We saw a lot of good things on the field that have to have the Browns pretty ecstatic going forward.
Looking back at the game, here are five players that I have labeled a ‘winner’ for how they played.
QB Deshaun Watson
Cleveland has been waiting for Watson to rise to the occasion and deliver a win. He did that by leading the Browns down the field on the final drive where they were able to kick a field goal to win it. After a rough first half where he wasn’t connecting with his receivers, Watson was money in the second half going 14-of-14 with a touchdown. Two pretty solid games in a row for Watson, maybe he’s building something here.
CB Greg Newsome II
Newsome’s first career interception came in Week 10 and he returned it for a touchdown. After getting the ball off a tipped pass, Newsome raced to the end zone untouched from 34 yards out. It was a big momentum boost the Browns needed late.
DE Myles Garrett
I feel like I have these articles on repeat with Garrett being included. If he’s not the Defensive Player of the Year, the award didn’t go to the right person. With another 1.5 sacks, Garrett is up to 11 on the year already. In the second half, Garrett was crucial in stopping a Ravens drive by himself. A joy to watch and Browns fans should enjoy him while he’s playing. These players don’t come around often.
RB Jerome Ford
Ford has received some Christian this season but maybe it is because we’re so used to Nick Chubb in the backfield. Week 10 was Ford’s best performance of the season, he found his way running from the gun specifically. If he can be this kind of player, the Browns have unlocked a crucial part of their offense. With 17 runs resulting in 107 rushing yards, he was an easy add here.
WR Amari Cooper
Week after week, Cooper is a sure-handed playmaker. Cooper totaled 98 receiving yards on six catches and was big down the stretch of the game. Right now, Cooper has 715 receiving yards and has a chance to set a career-high in yards this season. That number is currently 1,189 in 2019 with the Cowboys.
LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
JOK has come into his own during his third season and looks like a Pro Bowl linebacker. Owusu-Koramoah had seven tackles and a half sack against the Ravens. He’s just a pest around the kind of scrimmage and gets to where the ball is every time.
Deshaun Watson gives the Browns what they’ve been waiting on in comeback win over Ravens
Watson gave Cleveland what they were waiting on.
