The Green Bay Packers have claimed rookie cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks, as noted by the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Packers also made another move within their secondary on Monday, as they released safety Innis Gaines.

Kelly was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth-round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He bolstered his draft stock during his four-season run at Stanford, where he tallied 147 total tackles. He also earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors in his final two seasons with the Cardinal.

Kelly featured for Baltimore in its three-game preseason schedule, and he recorded six total tackles.

Kelly did not go on to make Baltimore’s 53-man roster for this season. He was waived by the team on Aug. 29, but it did not take him long to find a new home in the NFL, as the Seahawks claimed him a mere day later.

The Seahawks did not roll out Kelly for a single snap on defense, although he did log 38 snaps played on special teams while with the team.

Kelly joins a Packers secondary that has dealt with a multitude of injuries this season. For one, cornerback Jaire Alexander missed Green Bay’s road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a shoulder injury.
