It's not often that you hear compliments exchanged between foes in the AFC West division, but that wasn't the case during "Monday Night Football."

As the Denver Broncos faced the Buffalo Bills on the road, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes joined Peyton and Eli Manning live on the "ManningCast" ESPN alternate broadcast of the game. Mahomes participated in the typical festivities, trying to call out the defenses and plays before they happened. He was asked plenty about his own team, but what should be of interest to Broncos fans is what the former league MVP had to say about their defense.

Just a few weeks ago, Denver managed their first win against Kansas City in the last 17 attempts. Part of that was due to a dominant performance on the defensive side of the ball, with two interceptions and two fumbles recovered in the 24-9 win. Mahomes believes that the Broncos' defense has turned the corner.

“Yeah, I mean from watching them on tape and playing against them twice, and them doing good, I think what they did is they simplified and they started to play sound football," Mahomes told the Manning brothers. "They have a lot of veterans, a lot of playmakers over there and they just let those guys loose. Stop thinking so much and go out there and fly around. I think you can see they’re turning the corner. They played good against us, and they started good against the Bills at the beginning of this game."

In the first half alone against the Bills in Week 10, Denver has managed two interceptions against Josh Allen and a forced fumble against James Cook. Winning the turnover battle is one of the easiest ways to win a football game and the Broncos are becoming quite the opportunistic defense.

"I think they’re going to be a tough team to beat down the stretch for anybody they play," Mahomes concluded. "With Sean Payton coaching and Vance Joseph, they’ve got the right coaches. They’re going get out there and they’re going to get after everybody.”
