The Denver Broncos are in the middle of a heated battle against the Minnesota Vikings. While the run defense is scaring us a bit, it's still anyone's game.
To start off the contest, Denver found a way, once again, to get a turnover in a crucial part of the game. In the Vikings' very first series, Kareem Jackson exploded through the hole and was able to lay the boom on Dobbs, forcing a crucial turnover early in the game.
You'd think that Jackson would learn from his previous mistakes, though. While we were happy the team came away with the turnover, we fear that Jackson could be facing a pretty hefty fine from the NFL over the hit.
Jackson has been front and center in the national spotlight over some pretty dirty hits throughout this NFL season. For some reason, Jackson just doesn't seem to have learned his lesson.
This is the first game back for Jackson after he was suspended four games for illegal hits. Specifically, for violations of unnecessary roughness rules, something the league is cracking down on and trying its best to keep players safe.
In his first game back after being ejected during the game against the Green Bay Packers, Jackson has once again found himself in a sticky situation. He's already forfeited over $500k in salary throughout the suspension and was fined nearly $90k so far this season for his hits.
When you factor in his $2.5M salary for this season, it's costing him a pretty penny to be laying the boom with his helmet the way that he has. The NFL will undoubtedly be looking at this play and could even hand down a suspension, once again.
We're all for big hits, but he needs to wisen up, or else the defense will be looking at the next few games without him.
