During another rough outing in Week 11, the New York Jets benched quarterback Zach Wilson in favor of Tim Boyle.

On Monday, the team announced that Boyle would be the team's starter going forward. There was a key tidbit along with that info, though. Zach Wilson will now be the third-string QB for the Jets.

Trevor Siemian will be the backup for Boyle as New York tries to find some sort of consistency at the QB position with Aaron Rodgers out.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh described the move as one to "give [Boyle] an opportunity, a different style of quarterback. It's really just to give him an opportunity to see if we can do something with the offense."

Wilson's struggles have been well-documented. The offense has struggled in front of him, but his lack of production has simply killed the Jets offense in instances. The defense has played well, but they cannot do it all on their own on a weekly basis.

Wilson was pulled during the team's loss to the Buffalo Bills after a rough stat line of 7/15 for 81 passing yards. He did not complete a pass to a wide receiver.

On the season, Wilson is ranked 30th out of 31 qualified passers in QBR (30.7), and he has only thrown six touchdown passes. It simply was not good enough, so the Jets are making a major change in order to try something new until Rodgers attempts his return to the field.
