The latest NFL power rankings are here and fans of the team in Cleveland are going to be happy with where they are.
After coming in at No. 9 in the power rankings last week, a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers now has the Browns at No. 5 in the NFL.
It was a defensive win for the Browns, who were able to outscore the Steelers 13-10. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson picked up his first win as a pro in Week 11.
“Last week: win vs. Pittsburgh, 13–10
Next week: at DenverDorian Thompson-Robinson played slightly better against the Steelers than Deshaun Watson did earlier in the season, and held on long enough to give Cleveland a victory that should almost assuredly lock them into a postseason spot barring some type of defensive collapse. As always, I am overjoyed with my pick of Myles Garrett as defensive player of the year. This rush defense was excellent, and if you take away the 74-yard Jaylen Warren run (O.K., and maybe a few of Warren’s other really nifty ones), it was a nearly flawless performance.” – Conor Orr, Sports Illustrated
With a record of 7-3, everything the Browns want remains right in front of them. If they continue to take care of business they’ll have a chance at the division, though it won’t be easy to overtake the Baltimore Ravens. Either way, the Browns currently hold the first wildcard spot.
Next up for the Browns is the Broncos in Denver. The Broncos are playing some winning football as of late, so it’ll be no easy task.
