Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has not been one to shy away from pulling off blockbuster trades. Just last year, he went out and acquired Roquan Smith from the Chicago Bears ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

This year, the Ravens reportedly have their sights set on bringing in a running back ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. Baltimore has been linked with a few running backs as of late, including Tennessee Titans standout Derrick Henry.

On Smith's part, he has much confidence in the current 53 players who round out Baltimore’s roster, but he would also approve of just whatever DeCosta ends up doing in the coming hours.

"I’m sure [if] the GM, ‘E.D.C.’ [Eric DeCosta] and guys feel as if there are some pieces out there that can help us, I’m sure they’ll bring them in," Smith said after the Ravens' Week 8 win over the Arizona Cardinals. "I love this team. I think we have a lot of great players at every position throughout from top to bottom.

"I’m just excited to be a part of it, and if anybody else comes, [we’ll] welcome them. If not, we’re good as we are."

Even as the Ravens watched a few players leave the team during the offseason and as they have dealt with injury after injury this season, they currently sit in first place in the AFC North standings with a 6-2 record. Still, they sure could use another impact player on either side of the ball to help bolster their odds in the AFC.
