Unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns it is not a victory Monday coming off of Week 8.

Cleveland fell in the final minute to the Seattle Seahawks 24-20, after a turnover resulted in points for Seattle.

Coming away from the game, there are players that stood out and there’s others on the opposite end. As there is in every game, some players stepped up, while others did not.

Winners

TE David Njoku

The Seahawks had no answer for screening to Njoku. Not many tight ends can move like he does in the open field and that’s one of his best attributes. It was the best game of the season for him with 77 receiving yards and a score.

DT Maurice Hurst

What a signing Hurst has been for the Browns. He continues to stand out in the middle and even showed off a very athletic play by tipping a ball in the air and making an unexpected interception. If Hurst stayed healthy I knew he would be a contributor for the Browns. They would be smart to extend him.

RB Pierre Strong Jr.

Strong finally had his chance with the Browns after they traded for him from the Patriots and he took advantage of it. Strong showed off his speed on a screen he took 41 yards. The backup running back has great burst that helped him have a couple nice runs. Getting 82 total yards from your third string back, you can’t ask for anything more.

WR Amari Cooper

After a quiet game last week, it was a strong performance for Cooper in Week 8. With six catches resulting in 89 yards, Cooper led the Browns in receiving and did a great job of moving the chains. His ability to draw penalties is not talked about enough.

LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

Against the Seahawks, Owusu-Koramoah started really strong with a couple of run stops. This season the athletic linebacker has taken his play to another level and he’s staying healthy. Watching JOK diagnose plays and get to the running back at or near the line of scrimmage is a joy to watch.

Losers

QB P.J. Walker

As a backup quarterback you want to limit turnovers and simply manage the game. Walker does the former but struggles with turnovers. Cleveland turned the ball over three times against the Seahawks and all of them fell on Walker. With two interceptions and a fumble, Walker put the Browns in a pretty tough spot. He completed less than half of his passes, it was a tough day at the office.

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones

Put the blame on whatever, but Peoples-Jones had another really disappointing game with not a single catch. It’s the second time that has happened this season. Last year, DPJ had over 800 receiving yards. This season he has just 97 yards and eight catches.
