Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is set to square off with a top-five-ranked defense for the second straight week. Seattle will face a Baltimore Ravens defense in Week 9 that currently leads the NFL in points per game allowed (15.1).

Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen each have been vital to Baltimore's formidable success on the defensive side of the ball this season. Whether it has been in coverage or when simply rushing the passer, Smith and Queen have defined versatile for the current AFC North leaders.

Smith is well aware that for the Seahawks to come away victorious in Week 9, they must do what they can to contain the Ravens' dynamic linebacker duo.

"I think two of the best linebackers in the game when you talk about Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen," Smith said during a press conference ahead of Week 9. "Guys who are out there just flying around, making plays. Then overall, just the way they play together, connected, not many mistakes.

"They take away big plays. I think they do a lot of things well.”

Smith is not one to shy away from an arduous challenge, and he is much looking forward to facing the Ravens’ stout front seven unit.

"Another great opportunity for us to go out there against another really good defense," Smith said.

The Seahawks are aiming to move to a 6-2 record for the first time since the 2020 season. On the other hand, the Ravens are looking to boast a 7-2 record for the first time in four years.
