If you weren't aware, Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander is a very confident guy who likes to chirp any chance he gets.
So, it makes sense he told reporters the Packers are going to win out over the next 10 games after his defense held the Los Angeles Rams out of the end zone on Sunday.
The Packers defense played very well on Sunday and held the Rams to just three points. Joe Barry's unit was sold against both the run and the pass. Overall, it was a well-rounded performance they can really build off. So, it makes sense for Alexander's confidence to be through the roof.
But at the same time, the Packers hardly showed a lot of reason for optimism moving forward. The Rams made so many mistakes on their own accord and the Packers still showed a major tendency to make backbreaking mistakes, as well.
The two offsides on Jon Runyan Jr. that negated not one, but two conversions on 4th and inches, Rashan Gary's back-to-back penalties that wiped out what would've been sacks, Jayden Reed's false start before halftime that made Anders Carlson's missed field goal attempt harder than it should have been, Jordan Love's misfires, Aaron Jones' fumble – I mean, the list can keep going, but you get the point, by now.
The team is still dealing with a ton of injuries, as well. The one thing working in Alexander's favor is the Packers have one of the easiest remaining strength of schedules in the NFL after the win over the Rams.
Still, with as many flaws as this team has, Alexander needs to slow it down, a bit. And sure, he's probably being his boisterous self. But there's no way this team is ripping off 10-straight. They'll be lucky to finish the year above .500, at this point.
