The Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was a heartbreaking one, as fans were reminded more than once about the fact that football is indeed a game of inches.

The Cowboys lost 28-23 to the Eagles despite putting together a last-second effort to steal the game, needing four more yards to score the would've-been game-winning touchdown.

One of the most gut-wrenching aspects of the defeat was the fact that quarterback Dak Prescott absolutely balled out on this one, completing 29 of his 44 pass attempts for 374 yards and three touchdowns.

As is often the case in the NFL, fans were quick to blame the loss on Prescott because, after all, his offense held the ball last with a chance to win it. But make no mistake about it: Dak was far from the reason the Cowboys lost on Sunday. In fact, he was the reason why they were in it in the first place.

That's why a current friend and a friend of old stood up for Dak Prescott postgame, sending strong messages about the quarterback who sprayed the field with dots all game long.

"Dak is a freaking warrior," Micah Parsons told reporters after the game. "There were lots of times where I was like 'That's Dak motherf—–g Prescott.' He's a dog, he's a warrior."

Among those times when Micah couldn't help describe his quarterback with f-bombs were clutch throws to CeeDee Lamb, whom he connected with for 191 yards in 11 catches.

"I've got unbelievable confidence in him," Parsons added. "I thought he had a great game, I think people need to put more respect on him, he outplayed everyone today."

An old friend of Dak also hit the world with some strong words right after his almost-heroic effort to win the Cowboys the game: Former head coach Jason Garrett.

Garrett claimed on NBC that Prescott did an "unbelievable job" and that he "put the entire team on his shoulders throughout the ballgame."

While it certainly matters little in terms of the Cowboys' chances of winning the NFC East and is no consolation following that hard-fought game, the Cowboys know they've got a very good quarterback on their roster.

If this team has a chance at going on a run in the postseason, Dak Prescott is the main reason why.
