QB Josh Dobbs has taken the NFL by storm lately.  The new Minnesota Vikings quarterback has performed at a high level after coming over from Arizona just before the trade deadline, leading them to back-to-back wins over the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.

And it's not just leading them to wins.  The former Tennessee Volunteer standout has starred in those wins, notching touchdowns with his arm and legs in both games.  A record-breaking start, actually, as Dobbs became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 400+yards, run for 100+ yards, and have no interceptions through his first two games with a team.

After Tuesday's news, the Cleveland Browns would love to have a veteran presence under center who can make plays and take care of the football.  Too bad they did less than three months ago.

The Browns announced that DeShaun Watson's season is over after the quarterback suffered a shoulder injury in the Browns' 33-31 win over the Ravens.

The Browns had Dobbs on their roster until August 24, when they traded him to the Arizona Cardinals.  The team ended up keeping Watson and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the only two QBs on their initial 53-man roster.

Thompson-Robinson ended up starting against the Ravens in Week 4, when he completed 19 of 36 attempts for 121 yards and 3 interceptions while getting sacked 4 times.  PJ Walker was brought up from the practice squad and started the following week, completing 19 of 34 passes for 192 yards with 2 interceptions as the Browns clipped the 49ers 19-17.

Now the 6-3 Browns will turn back to Walker or Thompson-Robinson again, presumably hoping to ride their outstanding defense for the second half of their season to a playoff berth.  In four games, Walker has completed just 49% of his passes with one touchdown and 5 interceptions.  Thompson has attempted just one pass since the Ravens debacle.

Meanwhile Dobbs is making highlight-reel plays for the Vikings, who sit inside the cut line for a wild card spot in the NFC.  Oh, and Justin Jefferson will be returning soon from a hamstring injury, making an already formidable Vikings offense downright scary moving forward.

If the Browns had simply kept number 15 on their roster in August, they might be looking to do more than just hang on to a playoff spot in a crowded and talented AFC.
