The Kansas City Chiefs didn't get out of their Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears unscatched.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid addressed reporters after the game, opening up with information on one concerning injury that occurred on Sunday. Backup OT Prince Tega Wanogho entered the game to start the second half and put together a nice drive worth of plays. He attempted to make a tackle on a Blaine Gabbert interception on the next drive and was quickly ruled out of the game with a quad injury.
"As far as the injuries go, really Prince (Tega Wanogho) is the only one to mention right now," Reid said. "(He has) a left quad (injury). Everyone else finished the game OK."
Wanogho had to be helped off the field by the training staff and he could hardly put any weight on his left leg at all. He was helped into the locker room by rookie OT Wanya Morris. He's the team's backup left tackle, so if he misses any stretch of time, the team could soon find themselves turning to either Lucas Niang or Wanya Morris for depth at the position.
Where other injuries are concerned, CB Joshua Williams and LT Donovan Smith both left the game briefly with injuries. Reid said that everyone was able to finish the game, and it appears they were both included.
Patrick Mahomes suffered an apparent lower-body injury ahead of halftime. This came on after a 50-yard touchdown reception was nullified by a penalty on RT Jawaan Taylor. Mahomes spoke about his ankle injury with reporters, which he claimed was "fine."
"I made it fine," Mahomes said. "I would have been fine to play the rest of the game. If anything it kind of scared me more, it being that ankle (I previously injured). It scared me a little bit more. We taped it up. Then, I was able to go."
We'll see what the practice week brings as far as these injuries are concerned.
