The Denver Broncos lost, badly.
In fact, the loss was nearly the worst ever as Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel decided to kneel the football, ending the misery for Broncos fans instead of kicking a field goal and breaking the record for most points by a team ever.
After the loss, Sean Payton was fired up and was simply not having it with reporters questioning. I previously wrote about this instance and Payton's now-viral reaction. Needless to say, he wasn't happy.
Furthermore, Payton and the organization were ripped to shreds by even former players. Broncos legend and TV personality Shannon Sharpe apologized to the fanbase with a fiery message on how it was unacceptable.
Our very own Evan Winter, A to Z Sports reporter, pointed out a very important aspect of the loss and Payton's own past.
Winter, in his tweet, explained how Payton had previously gone viral for trashing previous head coach Nathaniel Hackett, which was the ultimate irony after Payton is repeatedly getting dunked on so far this season.
Payton went viral a few weeks ago with an explosive interview in which he called out the previous regime, mentioning Hackett by name. For those who may not remember, we previously wrote about that interview. To sum it up, Payton had the following to say about the former Broncos head coach.
"There’s 20 dirty hands, for what was allowed, tolerated in the fricking training rooms, the meeting rooms. The offense. I don’t know Hackett. A lot of people had dirt on their hands. It wasn’t just Russell. He didn’t just flip. He still has it. This B.S. that he hit a wall? Shoot, they couldn’t get a play in. They were 29th in the league in pre-snap penalties on both sides of the ball."
Right now, the Broncos are the third most penalized team in the entire league, falling only behind the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers. Not an area that has been cleaned up enough to rip the previous regime.
While we appreciate Payton's openness and honesty, he might want to take a step back over the next few weeks. He's already been bitten by his previous comments, he doesn't want to provide anyone more bulletin board material as his team is dead last with calls for tanking to acquire Caleb Williams.
Broncos’ Sean Payton gets heated in postgame exchange with reporter
The Denver Broncos didn’t give fans much reason to celebrate with their historic loss to the Miami Dolphins. Sean Payton wasn’t messing around after the game.
