Turnovers were one of the themes of the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 3 home loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Ravens turned the ball over twice in their second home contest of the season. Kenyan Drake fumbled on his first touch of the season in the first quarter, and a mere one quarter later, Lamar Jackson coughed up the football deep in Ravens territory.

The Ravens did not turn the football over once in their road win over the Cincinnati Bengals, although they logged two giveaways in their regular season opener against the Houston Texans.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh hopes to see his team be more careful with the football moving forward.

"That's football," Harbaugh said during his postgame press conference. "You have to protect the football. That's it. … If we're going to be a winning football team, we have to understand that you can't spot in possessions like that. We have to hold on to the football. Our guys know that.

"They'll be working very hard to get that done. It's challenging, [and] it's a tough game. There's a lot of guys flying around out there, and there's a lot of hard hitting going on, but that's the No. 1 job of anybody that has the ball in their hands — that's to protect it."

Overall, the Ravens have tallied four giveaways in three games played this year. They turned the ball over a total of 21 times in the 2022 campaign.

The Ravens are now set to meet a Cleveland Browns team in Week 4 that has recorded a mere two takeaways this season.
