The New Orleans Saints could be without their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

In Sunday's loss versus the Green Bay Packers, QB Derek Carr suffered a shoulder injury that took him out of the rest of the game. After the game, the team disclosed that it is an AC joint sprain for Carr.

On Monday, Saints head coach Dennis Allen detailed the injury and gave him a timetable of 'week-to-week' as of right now.

"I think we dodged a bullet there in terms of anything of real significance. I think we’re kind of saying week to week, but again, he felt better today than he did yesterday, so we’re not making any decisions today." — Allen on Carr

It seems like Carr and the Saints avoided a major injury that would take him out long-term. Now, he could miss multiple weeks, but Allen's description seemed to have a positive light in comparison to the original reports when the injury occurred.

For the Saints, they must make do with what they have in Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill while Carr is out. New Orleans and their staff cannot afford to crater while their new starter misses some time.

Ultimately, the newest update from Allen on Carr is one that fans will be happy with right now.
