Well, that wasn't all that much fun.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't look horrific in that first half in part due to a few very good defensive stands, but the offense left a lot to be desired.

The Bucs look like they are back to where they were last year offensively; beating themselves due to the same old silly mistakes.

Before we crush the coaching staff too much, the Bucs were a Mike Evans catch and an earlier Baker Mayfield read away from having that game much closer than it was.

In fact, despite all the bad, the Bucs should have been tied going into half, which is an extremely impressive fact when the Eagles more than doubled Tampa's production on offense.

However, everyone knows the saying about ifs and buts.

In reality, the Bucs struggled on offense in large part due to a horrific rushing attack that hasn't changed much from the past few years. Twenty yards in the half on 11 carries shows that pretty well.

The Buccaneers can't run the ball-they definitely can't run the ball on first down. That pattern is just too easy to pick out and find where the negative is.

Tampa gets predictable with the ball on the ground and other teams key in. Teams like the Eagles with great front sevens barely even need to prepare-they win that matchup with little planning.

The second half should see the Bucs throwing the ball more if they want to win, but that is a bit of a question mark with Todd Bowles as the head coach. Hopefully the team doesn't try too hard to keep that going when it is obvious that it doesn't work right now.
