Dez Bryant hasn't been a Dallas Cowboy since 2017.
For those who follow him on Twitter, that doesn't mean he is any less involved when it comes to voicing his opinion. One of his more recent tweets got Cowboys fans buzzing and thinking of the possibilities as he suggested trading for a big-name NFL player that could boost the offense.
The Atlanta Falcons spent a top-ten pick on tight end Kyle Pitts just two years ago. While he was one of the most hyped tight end prospects in recent memory. going into his third year he has yet to record 100 catches and has just three touchdowns.
The Falcons' (or more specifically Arthur Smith's) usage of Pitts has fantasy owners and fans alike in constant rage. Pitts' usage begs the question: What would it take to get him from the Falcons?
For the Cowboys, one pick comes to mind, their second-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys don't have the best history when it comes to drafting in the second round. Notable misses include Jaylon Smith Kelvin Joseph, and Trysten Hill. Connor Williams and Chidobe Awuzie are longer on the team. The only person who has panned out (so far, I'm not judging Sam Williams yet) in the past seven years is Trevon Diggs.
Would it be the worst idea to explore a trade for someone who was considered a unicorn-type talent at their position?
I think it would be a fantastic idea. However, I'm not comfortable giving up much more (which I'm sure the Falcons would want) due to the Cowboys' depth at tight end.
Regardless, thinking about Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Tony Pollard, Michael Gallup, and Kyle Pitts in the same offense is incredibly fun. Dez is on to something there.
Cowboys’ Micah Parsons drops a quote that proves he’s insane
He’s built different.
