Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes played one game during his rookie season, yet heading into Week 4 against the New York Jets, he leads all players with 199 touchdown passes since 2017.

With a single passing touchdown against the Jets on Sunday night, Mahomes has now claimed a new piece of NFL history as his own. The reigning league MVP and Super Bowl MVP now has 200 career touchdown passes, reaching the mark in just 84 games. That mark is the fastest in league history that a quarterback has reached 200 career touchdown passes.

That's good for five fewer games than the previous record holder, Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino, who it took 89 games played to reach 200 career passing touchdowns. For some valuable context, it took Aaron Rodgers 99 games and it took Peyton Manning 106 games to reach the same 200-passing touchdown mark.

Marino is still the youngest player in NFL history to reach the 200-career passing touchdown mark. While they both set the record at the age of 28, Mahomes is just 12 days older than Marino was when he set the record back in September of 1989.

Last week, Mahomes became the quickest player in NFL history to reach 25,000 career passing yards, ousting Matthew Stafford for the record. He continues to do the unimaginable, and this surely won't be the last time we hear his name mentioned among historical pace leaders when it comes to yardage and touchdown passes.
