The Cleveland Browns didn’t have the Week 4 result that they wished for, to say the least.

In Week 4, the Baltimore Ravens came into Cleveland Browns Stadium and handed the Browns a 28-3 loss. With the loss, Cleveland is at 2-2 on the season. Baltimore is now first in the AFC North with a record of 3-1.

Now, Cleveland’s focus will turn toward the bye week. A week where they need to get healthy before hosting the San Francisco 49ers two weeks from now.

With the damage done, let’s take a look at a few quick takeaways.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson is simply not ready

Any real expectations went out the window once it was made known that Deshaun Watson would not play in Week 4. It wasn’t hard to assume it would be tough sledding with Dorian Thompson-Robinson making his first career start as a fifth-round rookie. It went worse than expected.

The offense was putrid all day. Against the Ravens, Thompson-Robinson threw three interceptions and had just 121 yards on 36 attempts.

After having a really good game last week from the quarterback position, the Browns received some bad play from the position in Week 4. DTR was a bit reckless, held the ball too long, and missed some receivers.

Cleveland opted to trade Joshua Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals and to give DTR the backup job. Early returns are showing that the move could be a questionable one.

The run game is nonexistent without Nick Chubb so far

Right now, the Browns do not have a run game. In both games without Nick Chubb, one has not existed.

Cleveland needed a run game especially today with a rookie quarterback starting to take some pressure off of him. It never happened. Starting running back Jerome Ford had 26 yards on nine rushes. Pierre Strong had a 40 yard run with less than a minute to go — his 49 yards led the Browns.

Kareem Hunt has added nothing since being signed, he looks like the same player who ran it for just three yards a carry last season. The offensive line isn’t helping either, as a result, a run game doesn’t exist.

Defense took a slight step back but the offense put them in a bad position all-day

The defense performed for the Browns at an up-and-down rate all day, though there were plenty of stops. Baltimore’s first run down of the day was a 10-yard run by Lamar Jackson after an interception.

Missed tackles were a real concern but the play of the defense was not the reason the Browns lost. Jackson was held to 27 yards rushing and only had 187 yards passing. The Baltimore offense was put in a good position all day.

It appeared that the defense took a step back but in reality, they were put in a bad position all game long. Cleveland’s inability to sustain drives and get across the 50-yard line was not there today.
