The Carolina Panthers stand winless in Week 3 of the NFL season, and it doesn't look like it is getting any easier in a matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Carolina Panthers key to victory
For the Carolina Panthers, Week 3 is about finding a way to move the ball. With a veteran starter under center, the Panthers offense should look smoother in theory. Andy Dalton has a track record of stepping in and making plays, he did so for the New Orleans Saints last season. Now the Panthers are looking for a little bit of the same, at least while Bryce Young is sidelined for the foreseeable future.
Carolina Panthers notable injuries
- QB Bryce Young is out with an ankle sprain. Doctors said that it would be a week-to-week affair. Panthers head coach Frank Reich said it may take more than two weeks before the Panthers see Young suiting up again as the starter.
- OLB Justin Houston is questionable leading into Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks with a calf injury. He was limited during two practices during the week, but he was a full participant on Friday.
- RB Miles Sanders nursed a pectoral injury all week. He was listed on the team's final injury report, but he was also a full participant in Friday's practice.
Carolina Panthers players to watch
- QB Andy Dalton: The NFL veteran was brought in to mentor Bryce Young, but Panthers head coach Frank Reich said that wasn't the only reason the team brought him in. After getting a few chances to check in the game last week, he is now taking over the starting job until Young is healthy. The question now becomes: What does the offense look like with Dalton calling the shots?
- RB Miles Sanders: The Panthers free agent addition hasn't looked anything like the running back that was seen on the Philadelphia Eagles last season. The team desperately needs that version of Miles Sanders if the offense will have any levels of sustainability. He needs a breakout game and fast.
- WR Terrace Marshall Jr.: A complete non-factor is the best way to put it. Terrace Marshal Jr. hasn't been a player worth writing home about to this point in the season. With Dalton now taking snaps, look for the Panthers to test more of the intermediate game, where Marshall may find his stride.
Notable Carolina Panthers news
- Panthers cautious with Bryce Young; may miss extended time.
- Panthers QB Bryce Young doesn't practice Thursday.
- Replacing LB Shaq Thompson will be a work in progress for the Panthers.
