It was a night to remember for the Colorado Buffaloes, who came away with the victory over rivals Colorado State double overtime on Saturday night.
And it was Shedeur Sanders who led Colorado to the comeback win, starting with a 98-yard game-tying drive in the final two minutes. He then threw two touchdowns in overtime.
A man of few words in his postgame interview with ESPN, Shedeur Sanders managed to reference a future Hall of Fame quarterback when asked about his impressive efforts.
“At the two [2-yard line], all I was thinking was Brady mode,” Shedeur Sanders said. “That’s it. Simple. You left too much time out there.”
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is known for leading the team down the field in clutch moments.
And Tom Brady was clearly impressed with Shedeur Sanders' performance, reposting a video of the young quarterback's final drive along with his post game sentiments. Brady even added some emojis to show what he thought of the drive.
Brady was often regarded as having ice in his veins during those time-sensitive drives, and he clearly thinks the same of Sanders.
All eyes were on Saturday night's primetime matchup, with Colorado State's head coach taking a shot at Deion Sanders earlier in the week for always wearing his hat and sunglasses.
“When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat off and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me,” Rams coach Jay Norvell said.
Yet, with the Buffaloes coming away with the victory, Shedeur Sanders wore sunglasses in his postgame interview in honor of his dad.
After finishing last year with a 1-11 record, Deion Sanders has already turned this program around, starting the season 3-0.
